You may have heard about ductless air conditioning systems, also known as ductless mini split heat pumps. (There are “cooling only” models, but most are heat pumps capable of working in heating and cooling modes.) Ductless mini splits are common in many parts of the world, such as Japan and throughout Europe. They’re becoming more popular here in the U.S. as an alternative to either using a central system with ductwork or window air conditioning units.
